Raw Mango | Banarasi Silk Sarees | Graduation Project
As part of my graduation project at NID for the brand Raw Mango, I created a series of handwoven 2-part Banarasi saris. This endeavor spanned eight months and drew visual inspiration from tantric paintings of Rajasthan, while the drape was influenced by Assamese Mekhela and Manipur Sarong styles. Guided by concepts such as energy, vibration, geometry, and resonance, I crafted designs that embraced Raw Mango's minimalist aesthetic.
The innovative concept behind the collection involved saris composed of interchangeable pieces, affording users the freedom to mix and match according to their preferences. Additionally, each piece could function independently as a dupatta, adding versatility to the ensemble. This project was an exploration of experimental design, offering a fresh perspective on traditional attire.
